CAUSAL ETHICS : The Mathematics of Regime Choice and Survival
Abstract
Causal Ethics (CE) is formulated in this book as a constraint and admissibility layeron system dynamics, rather than a theory of moral sentiment, preference aggregation, ornormative doctrine. Its purpose is to characterize which forms of agency, interaction, andregime selection can persist without violating causal, spectral, and stability constraints.CE is not a utilitarian calculus, not a virtue taxonomy, and not a theological or culturalethics system. It does not rank values, prescribe moral ends, or claim moral authority.Instead, it formalizes ethics as a necessary condition for the survival and coherence ofagency within manifested reality. The core primitive of CE is Choice: an Agency is defined operationally as an entity capableof selecting a regime of translation and interaction. Without choice, there is no ethics, responsibility, or moral cost. The framework yields testable diagnostics— Lyapunov ethical load, spectral survival, regime incompatibility, and accumulated moral cost— and produces falsifiable forecasts forindividual, collective, and artificial agents operating under finite causal memory. This abstract constitutes a scope contract for the entire book.
