Abstract

This dataset documents a post-hoc edited comment within a public YouTube comment thread responding to AI-assisted content. The edit occurred after the original exchange had already been formalized and archived as a Zenodo dataset, introducing new rhetorical elements (resource-use claims and intensified dismissal language). The artifact captures a distinct conversational state: a reactive revision following archival awareness, offering rare observational evidence of how public commenters alter discourse once their statements are formalized as data. No intervention occurred beyond documentation. No private or identifying information beyond public usernames is included. This dataset is intended for comparative analysis alongside the original, unedited exchange to support research into observer effects, discourse escalation, archival reflexivity, and AI-mediated attention dynamics.
