Article II: Mathematical Formalization of Consciousness as an Emergent Coherent System (LM)
Abstract
This work presents a mathematical formalization of consciousness as an emergent coherent regime in complex, non-equilibrium systems. Building upon a previously established conceptual framework, consciousness is treated not as a localized neural byproduct nor as a metaphysical entity, but as a system-level phenomenon arising when integrated information and coherence exceed a critical threshold. A generalized system description, an information integration criterion, and a coherence field representation are introduced. Gravity is incorporated as an indirect modulatory factor that shapes environmental conditions without acting as a causal origin. This article serves as a formal bridge between conceptual unification and future dynamical, physical, and empirical extensions.
