A Trick Question, The Cascade, and a Cup Worthy of Exile — A Script' Junkies' Riddle — Our Destiny (M5)
Abstract
Abstract Movement V of six. Echoes from the Architecture of Recursion. The prior movements established the problem: N refusals produce N² consequences through quadratic scaling of correlated failure. The Garden initiated the cascade (M1). The divine council replicated it at cosmic scale (M2). Flood and Babel redistributed debris without absorbing it (M3). Two millennia of accumulation proved the cascade constitutional, not circumstantial—embedded in the human heart itself, beyond any external optimization (M4). Movement V arrives at terminus. Another garden—not Eden with its choice still open, but Gethsemane with its choice finally made. The accumulated weight of every refusal since the beginning, concentrated in a single cup, offered to one who did not generate any of it. The Gethsemane prayer reverses Eden's three movements: relationship affirmed ("My Father"), reality acknowledged within relationship ("if it is possible"), will surrendered ("not as I will, but as you will"). Where Adam evaluated and grasped, Christ surrenders and receives. Where Adam deferred responsibility, Christ absorbs consequence. The N† operator—voluntary cost-acceptance by one not subject to accumulated debt—satisfies the termination requirements established in Movement IV: addresses the generator (not just consequences), achieves trans-substratic efficacy (operating across human, divine, and structural debris simultaneously), absorbs (not redistributes). The cross functions as mathematical terminus, not merely religious symbol. Tetelestai: "It is finished." Falsification: The N† model collapses if atonement is portrayed as forced rather than voluntary, if Gethsemane shows compulsion rather than choice, or if the terminus fails to operate across all substrates simultaneously. Series: Part of "A Trick Question, The Cascade, and a Cup Worthy of Exile" (Movements I–VI) within the Our Gods Research Program.
