Sal-Meter Negative Definition v1.0
Abstract
The Sal-Meter Negative Definition v1.0 is a canonical anti-misuse declaration that permanently and unambiguously defines what is NOT a Sal-Meter device. This document prevents unauthorized use of the "Sal-Meter" designation and CAIS standards by explicitly excluding:- Devices without aptamer-iodine multi-oxidation sensing (HRV trackers, EEG headsets, meditation monitors)- Systems using only GSH/GSSG redox sensing without iodine module- Devices outputting non-CAIS indices or proprietary "consciousness scores"- Unvalidated or self-validated systems without independent CRO assessment- Closed-source systems blocking core design inspection This document operates as part of the Consciousness Civilization Framework (CCF) canonical document constellation, alongside:- Sal-Meter Canonical Definition v1.0 (defines what IS a Sal-Meter)- CAIS Compliance Boundary v1.0 (defines mandatory technical constraints)- Sal-Meter Open Competition Charter v1.0 (defines governance and competition rules) The document is issued by the Salpida Institute of Consciousness Science (SICS) and serves as the authoritative reference for misuse prevention, enforcement, and boundary protection across all jurisdictions and timescales. Companion Canonical Documents (February 2026 Update) This document is constitutionally and non-derogably bound to the followingDOI-registered canonical records, which together define the completeSal-Meter / CAIS constitutional, technical, and governance framework: - Sal-Meter Canonical Definition v1.0 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18452075 — Defines what constitutes a valid Sal-Meter device - CAIS Compliance Boundary v1.0 — Non-Derogable Standard DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18452269 — Specifies mandatory versus optional technical constraints - Sal-Meter Open Competition Charter v1.0 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18452453 — Establishes multi-team development governance and validation protocols - Sal-Meter Negative Definition v1.0 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18452694 — Defines exclusionary boundaries and prevents misuse These records collectively constitute the authoritative and irreversiblereference set for CAIS-compatible consciousness measurement systems. Implementation & Open Development Index (Non-Authoritative) For open development, competition participation, and non-authoritativeimplementation references only, see the public index repository below: https://github.com/salpida-foundation/sal-meter-competition This repository functions strictly as an implementation index andcoordination layer. It does not carry canonical, constitutional, orinterpretive authority, which remains fixed exclusively in theDOI-registered records listed above.
