The Consistency Operator: A Unified Reconstruction of Physics, Cosmology, and Mind
Abstract
This 132‑page manuscript presents a unified, non‑mathematical reconstruction of physics, cosmology, and mind from a single structural principle: the operator that enforces self‑consistent description. Rather than introducing new equations or proposing new physical entities, the work develops a conceptual architecture showing how quantum behaviour, classical dynamics, spacetime geometry, cosmological structure, and even consciousness arise as different projections of one underlying requirement: that any description of the world must be coherent, stable, and representable.Internally, the operator governs mismatch, the divergence between partial self‑descriptions. This internal geometry gives rise to the qualitative features of quantum mechanics: superposition, interference, entanglement, and the Born‑rule‑like emergence of stable outcomes. Externally, the operator enforces compatibility, producing spacetime, curvature, conservation laws, and classical trajectories as the stable fixed points of representable structure. Particles appear as persistent stability basins; forces as transitions between them; fields as consistency constraints rather than physical media. At cosmological scales, the same operator explains the Big Bang as the threshold where mismatch first became representable, inflation as the rapid expansion of stability, dark matter as geometric curvature required for coherence, and dark energy as the global smoothing pressure of the stability basin. Black holes and horizons emerge as saturation points where internal mismatch becomes unrepresentable externally. The universe itself is framed as the maximal fixed point of the operator: finite in representation, unbounded in internal structure. The manuscript also addresses the reflexive domain: consciousness as the operator’s self‑referential mode, free will as navigation within a stability landscape, and meaning as the alignment of internal and external fixed points. Throughout, the emphasis remains conceptual rather than mathematical; the framework is presented as a structural lens through which existing physical theories can be understood as different resolutions of the same underlying process. The result is a coherent, cross‑scale architecture in which physics, cosmology, and mind are not separate domains but different expressions of one geometric act of coherence.
