Geometric Inertia as the Architect of the Local Sheet: A Weyl-Geometric Reinterpretation of ''The mass distribution in and around the Local Group'' (Wempe et al. 2026)
Abstract
Title: Geometric Inertia vs. Dark Matter: A Weyl-Geometric Reinterpretation of the Local Sheet (Wempe et al. 2026) Description: This brief paper provides a causal reinterpretation of the findings of Wempe et al. (2026) on the mass distribution in the Local Group. Whereas the ΛCDM model requires a fine-tuned dark matter configuration to explain the "silent Hubble flow," we demonstrate that such a structure is the manifestation of a planar Weyl Curvature Imprint (WCI). Applying Jussà-Vila's Ansatz, we replace the requirement for non-baryonic matter with Geometric Inertia intrinsic to the fabric of spacetime. An ontological comparison between the particle model and the topological scaffolding model is included.
