THE ROLE OF MORPHOLOGY IN COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS: ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING
Abstract
Computational linguistics (CL) plays an important role in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and has become one of the main directions of development in recent years. In the process of natural language processing, morphology that is, the internal structure and composition of words serves as a fundamental tool for syntactic and semantic analysis of language. By studying words and their grammatical features, morphology enables the automatic analysis of texts. This article provides a detailed discussion of the relationship between computational linguistics and morphology, the role of morphology in natural language processing, and how it is applied in automatic language analysis. The article demonstrates the importance of morphological analysis in NLP and introduces existing approaches and techniques for optimizing morphological processes using computational linguistics.
