Abstract

This document reports the work and results from the first 10 months of the WP2 in the INSTINCT project. The research in WP2 has concentrated on several topics. The system and algorithm studies have been performed on the use of multi-carrier waveforms in multi-sensor ISAC systems, on solving challenges in positioning applications, and on the system and algorithm development for sensing in cellular as well as in cell-free networks. Furthermore, the use of RISs in sensing and their implementation is under active work and first results of the RIS development for ISAC systems is reported in this deliverable. One important topic in the project is to understand the effect of hardware imperfections on both the communications and sensing performance in ISAC systems and develop methods for impairment mitigation.
