Abstract

Life on Earth is sustained by complex interactions between organisms and their environment. These biotic interactions can be captured in datasets and published digitally. We present a review and archiving process for such an openly accessible digital interactions dataset of known origin and discuss its outcome. The dataset under review, named globalbioticinteractions/mendes-diniz-2025, has fingerprint hash://md5/0bcee46af9ae67e450488c5c47acfa44, is 1.24MiB in size and contains 3,124 interactions with 1 unique type of association (e.g., pollinates) between 278 primary taxa (e.g., Trigona silvestriana) and 383 associated taxa (e.g., Cecropia insignis). This report includes detailed summaries of interaction data, a taxonomic review from multiple catalogs, and an archived version of the dataset from which the reviews are derived.
