Abstract

Life on Earth is sustained by complex interactions between organisms and their environment. These biotic interactions can be captured in datasets and published digitally. We present a review and archiving process for such an openly accessible digital interactions dataset of known origin and discuss its outcome. The dataset under review, named globalbioticinteractions/wad, has fingerprint hash://md5/0edd01167678b3dfb7525c844b77bb0b, is 19.8MiB in size and contains 24,064 interactions with 5 unique types of associations (e.g., eats) between 2,162 primary taxa (e.g., Eratoneura acantha (Ross & DeLong, 1950)) and 1,708 associated taxa (e.g., 1e55928f-1c9b-4e7f-85af-a89d50e2c2b2). This report includes detailed summaries of interaction data, a taxonomic review from multiple catalogs, and an archived version of the dataset from which the reviews are derived.
