General Conduction Structure Derived from the Entropy Equation
Abstract
This study constructs a general conduction equation in continuous space, starting from the structural form of entropy production\[\frac{dS}{dt} = D e^{-(\gamma - \alpha)t}.\]Entropy production represents the minimal structure of dissipation, and conduction phenomena such as heat, electricity, diffusion, and viscositycan be regarded as special cases of this structure.By introducing a state variable \(u(\mathbf{x},t)\),a potential field \(\Phi(\mathbf{x},t)\),and resistance and promotion terms \(\gamma(\mathbf{x})\) and \(\alpha(\mathbf{x})\),we derive the general conduction equation\[\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}-\nabla\cdot\left\{K(\mathbf{x}) e^{-(\gamma(\mathbf{x})-\alpha(\mathbf{x}))t}\nabla\Phi(\mathbf{x},t)\right\}=\sigma(\mathbf{x},t).\]This equation provides a unified structural basis for conduction phenomenaand can be extended when more appropriate constitutive relations are available.
