The Hypocrisy of Academic Elites: A Sociological Critique of "Gangster Logic" in Academia and the Pursuit of Truth Beyond Pedigree
Abstract
This paper exposes the inherent corruption and "gangster-like" operating logic of modern academia, arguing that beneath the facade of rationality and rigor lies a system driven by power monopoly, interest groups, and exclusionary rules. Academic circles replicate the core logic of the underworld: prioritizing background and connections over talent, defending "intellectual territory" with territoriality, distributing research resources like profit-sharing, and using "academic norms" as disguised "family rules" to eliminate dissent. The violence of academic hooligans is systemic—blocking publication channels, cutting funding, and inducing "social death"—far more insidious than physical violence. Drawing parallels to the Pharisees in religious history, academic elites monopolize the right to interpret truth, establish a "pedigree verification system" for knowledge, and equate prestigious backgrounds with scientific validity. This bloodline-based logic contradicts the essence of science, as truth requires no lineage but only verification. Independent researchers, like Jesus who bypassed the Pharisees, are marginalized for challenging the system. However, their adherence to sincerity and truth-seeking will ultimately be vindicated by history. The paper concludes that the only way to break the cycle is to reject academic authoritarianism, embrace open science, and recognize that truth thrives on questioning rather than obedience to elites.
