Abstract

What if Boltzmann was literally right? Boltzmann’s combinatorial density, W, cannot be projected onto molecules. Not onto molecular probabilities, not onto molecular trajectories, not onto dissipative molecular entropy. Boltzmann’s entropy taken literally, S = klnW, is a statement of macroscopic admissibility – not of molecules. I define a Boltzmann-literal mode in which AI allows neither itself nor me to commit projection errors. I then ask AI questions about science. This collection of essays describes its answers. These essays originally appeared at The Hand & The Arrow (substack.com/@joshbaker3) where I write about Boltzmann literalism (i.e., top-down causation).
