The Divine Knowledge Part III: The Quranic Pedagogy for Teaching Finslerian Geometry: An Inspirational Quest for Finslerian Geometrists
Abstract
The study and teaching of Finslerian geometry using Quranic pedagogical concepts is the main topic of this article, which investigates a fresh and apparently unconnected intellectual link. This study argues that, even if ancient texts and current mathematics exist in separate epistemological spheres, the way the Quran deals with knowledge—that is, with deep reflection (tadabbur), gradual revelation (tanjim), and the use of parables (amthal)—provides a powerful and inspiring guide for negotiating the theoretical intricacies of Finslerian geometry. The paper contends that the Quranic call to go from surface knowledge to a more profound, context-sensitive grasp of reality offers a strong metaphorical parallel in the move from the isotropic character of Riemannian geometry to the anisotropic, direction-dependent world of Finslerian geometry. This essay seeks to offer geometers a motivational framework that enhances both the classroom instruction and the personal search of this sophisticated mathematical area by viewing the study of Finslerian manifolds as a spiritual and intellectual journey (ilm).
