PROJECT T VOLUME XVII : Symmetry Breaking and Phase Transitions How ℤ₃ Breaking Generates Three Generations
Abstract
This volume explores spontaneous symmetry breaking of the ℤ₃ symmetry inherent to the algebraic structure H₀(A₃). When the effective potential develops multiple degenerate minima, the system must 'choose' one—breaking the symmetry. The three degenerate vacua of the ℤ₃-symmetric potential provide a natural explanation for three fermion generations. Each vacuum corresponds to one generation (e, μ, τ), and the mass hierarchy emerges from the potential structure. We analyze phase transitions, thermal history, and domain wall formation. The critical temperature T_c marks the transition from the symmetric high-temperature phase to the broken low-temperature phase.
