Abstract

Well-being is the goal of life for people around the world, and various efforts are made to achieve it. In Hinduism, well-being is referred to as Jagadhita, which is also mentioned in the ultimate goal of Hindus, namely Moksartham Jagadhita Ya Ҁaiti Dharma. Jagadhita means well-being, order, safety, and freedom. Specifically, this goal of life is described in Catur Purusartha, namely Dharma, Arta, Kama, and Moksa. To achieve this goal, the Vedas emphasize ritual efforts (Karmakanda). The concept of Dharma is the teaching of truth, as a view of life, a guide for human life. Artha refers to material things that support life. Kama refers to desires, and Moksa refers to the union of the self or Jiwatman with Paramaatman.
