Evolutionary Psychoanalysis Integrating Freudian Theory with Neuroscience and Evolutionary Psychology (Rev5)
Abstract
This paper presents the final revision of an evolutionary psychoanalytic framework, examining its theoretical implications, limitations, and a substantially updated model. The revision aims to address longstanding concerns regarding the empirical accuracy and scientific viability of evolutionary psychoanalysis as a theoretical approach. Drawing on contemporary findings from neuroscience and empirical research, the model has been significantly restructured to improve coherence, falsifiability, and explanatory rigor while preserving core Freudian terminology. Rather than asserting deterministic or high-precision claims, the revised framework emphasizes probabilistic reasoning, predictive framing, and constraint-based interpretation, moving away from purely post hoc explanations. This approach seeks to maintain psychoanalysis as a scientifically informed and evolving discipline, grounded in biological plausibility and empirical alignment.
