The MIDF Equivalence Table A Deterministic Unification of Classical Fatigue, Aging, and Reliability Models via Internal State Dynamics
Abstract
This paper introduces the MIDF Equivalence Table, a compact and deterministic mapping between classical fatigue, degradation, and reliability models and the Manassero Internal Degradation Framework (MIDF). Instead of proposing new empirical laws, the MIDF framework models degradation as the time evolution of an internal damage state driven by physical fluxes. Classical models such as Miner’s rule, Basquin S–N relations, Paris-type crack growth laws, Arrhenius aging, and Weibull reliability distributions are shown to emerge as restricted projections of the same internal-state equation under specific assumptions. The equivalence table provides a translation layer between industry-accepted models and the MIDF formulation, enabling adoption without retraining, reinterpretation of probabilistic results as deterministic state dispersion, and systematic identification of model validity limits. The paper is equation-centric, domain-independent, and intended as a foundational reference for predictive maintenance, lifecycle modeling, and deterministic reliability theory.
