Abstract

The Knowledge and Technology Transfer Strategy (Deliverable R62) defines a proportionate, formal framework for organising, documenting and implementing the transfer of PeatTransform results to identified stakeholder groups. The Strategy is explicitly limited to the scope of the project application and is designed to support consistent delivery of knowledge transfer actions (communication, dissemination and stakeholder exchange) and the procedural interface for technology transfer (screening and management of potentially protectable intangible assets). It clarifies terminology, scope boundaries and linkages to the project work plan, positioning the Strategy as an internal coordination and quality assurance instrument rather than a set of commitments on uptake or market deployment. The Strategy maps transfer-relevant outputs into an “asset register” logic covering methodological improvements for greenhouse gas accounting, monitoring and audit/quality assurance protocols, demonstration-derived lessons and practices, models and digital workflows, socio-economic assessment outputs and scenario decision-support materials, and transfer-enabling communication products. For each asset category, the Strategy specifies how outputs are packaged, archived and made discoverable via the Project Information Centre and supporting repositories. It embeds binding constraints derived from the application: EU visibility and accessibility requirements, GDPR-compliant data handling, FAIR-aligned documentation, and a conservative disclosure boundary to avoid premature release of potentially protectable results. Transfer pathways are defined using only instruments already included in the application: the Information Centre as the central access and archiving hub; research briefs/highlights and annual newsletters; interpretive public communication products (articles with infographics, short films, podcast episodes); practice-oriented technical materials (summaries, technical guidelines and practice manuals); and event-based two-way exchange formats under Activity 6 (informational seminars, training workshops, Innovation Sprints and a closing conference). The Strategy formalises the technology transfer interface through IP audits, patentability and freedom-to-operate screening, controlled disclosure sequencing, and licensing/rights-management procedures consistent with the project’s IP activity. Roles and responsibilities follow the application governance: lead coordination, partner content generation, scientific quality control, stakeholder advisory input and steering oversight. Implementation is aligned to the project timeline (Q4 2025–Q3 2029) and the annual update cycle of the Communication Strategy and Plan. Monitoring emphasises traceable delivery of planned products and events, compliant archiving, and documented feedback loops, integrated into the project’s quarterly and midterm/final evaluation regime. Risk management focuses on stakeholder engagement continuity, usability of outputs, IP/data constraints, accessibility/visibility compliance and avoidance of overstatement. Annexes provide templates for asset registration, stakeholder mapping, open-versus-protect screening, and standardised front pages for transfer materials.
