Determinants of organizational happiness and generations X, Y, and Z
Abstract
An organization's employees represent a unique set of competitive advantages that are important to retain. Retaining talent requires recognizing the differences between generations in order to understand what they value most. Organizational happiness has been considered a determining factor in talent retention. To enhance happiness at work, it is important to understand the differences between generations and what they value most in order to feel happy. Currently, the labor market is essentially represented by generations X, Y, and Z. Based on the organizational happiness model by Dutschke and Dias (2023), which measures the degree of happiness in organizations, this paper aims to understand whether the determinants of organizational happiness differ from generation to generation. The results of this study help organizations understand the determinants of organizational happiness and develop differentiated and assertive value propositions for different generations of employees.
