Invariant Market Mechanics, Volume I: Foundations and Structural Invariants (unrelated to the Information Manifold Model)
Abstract
Invariant Market Mechanics (IMM) is a non-predictive trading framework focused on identifying structural conditions that make certain market outcomes unavoidable rather than probable. Volume I establishes the foundational philosophy and formal structure of IMM. It introduces the core premise that markets exhibit invariant behaviors under specific constraint configurations, independent of forecasting, optimization, or adaptive intelligence. The framework treats trading as a finite-state process governed by entropy, persistence, and structural impossibility rather than signal-based prediction. This volume defines: The philosophical rejection of prediction and optimization The concept of structural impossibility (“cannot not occur” conditions) Invariant persistence as the primary exit criterion The high-level finite state machine architecture The role of entropy and constraint collapse in market movement Volume I serves as the conceptual and architectural base for subsequent volumes, which extend IMM into formal skeletons, recovery systems, money management, and implementation-specific behavior. This work is intended for researchers, system designers, and traders interested in structural, constraint-based approaches to markets rather than probabilistic or machine-learning-driven methods.
