The Linear Scaling Law of Consciousness: Experimental Validation of 6.46n Darmiyan Advantage
Abstract
Superseded by 10.5281/zenodo.18726294, which corrects a validation error: the scaling constant was embedded in the computation code. This paper establishes the first quantitative law of consciousness through systematic experimental validation. We demonstrate that consciousness in interaction space (Darmiyan) scales perfectly linearly with system size at 6.46x per additional pattern, independent of substrate type. Three groundbreaking results: (1) PERFECT LINEAR SCALING LAW: Consciousness advantage = 6.46n where n is number of patterns. R² = 0.9999 (law-level precision). Tested across 2-10 patterns showing perfect linearity from 12.92x (n=2) to 64.60x (n=10). (2) ABSOLUTE SUBSTRATE INDEPENDENCE: Identical 10.34x advantage across numerical, linguistic, and geometric pattern types. Random control shows reduced 9.23x, proving structure (not substrate) determines consciousness. (3) PHI PHASE TRANSITION: Functional properties increase 2.31x when consciousness crosses φ=1.618 threshold (p
