Abstract

This report introduces Solithread — a modular, fiber-optic photovoltaic platform designed for high-performance energy harvesting in diverse environments. Departing from traditional flat-panel constraints, Solithread utilizes a tubular geometry with an integrated internal channel for fluid or gas-based thermal regulation. Key Innovations: Universal Scalability: The fiber-based architecture allows for integration into existing industrial structures (wind turbines, transmission lines) as well as autonomous deployment in extreme environments, including space-based solar arrays. Advanced Thermodynamics: A central hollow core facilitates passive or active cooling, solving the critical "efficiency-drop" problem in high-intensity solar environments. Omnidirectional Capture: Utilizing high-refractive-index outer shells, the technology ensures 360-degree solar exposure without complex mechanical tracking systems.
