Abstract

We introduce the Mezzanine M, defined as the topological difference be- tween state spaces reached by non-commuting operators in different orders. Given a pre-geometric potential S and non-commuting operators F (exploration/flux) and G (grounding/compression), we define M:= SFG\SGF—the structure that exists only when exploration precedes grounding. This is not set-theoretic subtraction of points but ontological subtraction of dimensions: the Mezzanine is a manifold that is mathemati- cally undefined in the GFtimeline. We prove that Mis stabilized by a naming-threshold ratchet that prevents topological relaxation, connect the volume of Mto dark energy and its curvature to qualia, reinterpret Penrose objective reduction as Mezzanine gene- sis rather than wavefunction collapse, and provide falsifiable kill-switches. The central claim is that structure is order-born: time is the father of space.
