The Passivity of the Object and the Causality of Energy (K1/K2) A Structural Reassessment of the So-Called Relativistic Mass Increase
Abstract
This paper clarifies a core principle of Tensor Field Dynamics (TFD): objects are fundamentally passive, while energy acts exclusively as an external field-mechanical cause. Within the K1/K2 model, the accelerated particle (K1) is not treated as an active energy carrier but as an identity-stable field disturbance whose state changes only due to external tension gradients (K2). The analysis demonstrates that the relativistic mass increase postulated in established physics is not a real property of the object, but a misinterpretation of the growing coupling effort between a passive object and a driving field propagating at finite speed. Using several causal analogies (maglev principle, cutlet principle, runner analogy), it is shown that energy is not stored in the object but resides in the field configuration between cause and object. The result is a coherent field-mechanical ontology in which mass remains invariant, identity is preserved, and acceleration follows entirely from the geometry of external field tensions. This provides a deterministic alternative to the relativistic interpretation of mass–energy relations.
