THE CONFLUENCE OF RELIGIOUS AND SECULAR VALUES IN THE PROCESS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY FORMATION
Abstract
The process of national identity formation constitutes a multifaceted and dynamic phenomenon, wherein the intricate interplay between religious and secular values assumes a central role. This study explores the theoretical and empirical dimensions of this confluence, emphasizing how historical, socio-cultural, and ideological frameworks shape collective consciousness and individual self-perception within the context of national identity. By critically examining philosophical discourses, sociological theories, and cross-cultural analyses, the research elucidates the mechanisms through which religious ethics and secular rationality coalesce to inform moral paradigms, civic engagement, and cultural continuity.
