Consciousness, Organization, and Evolutionary Constraint
Abstract
This paper argues that consciousness can matter physically without breaking or modifying any laws of physics. Rather than acting as a force or field, consciousness reshapes physical outcomes by reorganizing matter into highly unlikely configurations that change boundary conditions in nonlinear systems. These organizational changes redirect how physical processes unfold, allowing conscious agents to influence long-term evolution while remaining fully consistent with standard physics. In this view, awareness functions as an emergent organizational mechanism that accelerates the exploration of possible physical states, not as a special substance or exception to physical law.
