THE VISUAL ALGORITHM: Engineering Narrative Systems for Global Audiences
Abstract
This monograph presents a concept of engineering-based design of audiovisual narrative systems intended to operate under conditions of global digital distribution and high competitive pressure. The work examines the transition from intuitive and empirical models of creative production to a formalized, algorithm-driven approach in which visual storytelling is treated as a complex technical system with defined parameters of efficiency and controllability. The study explores methods of structural decomposition of meaning, algorithms for predictive management of audience attention, and principles for building scalable and fault-tolerant media structures capable of maintaining functional stability as audiences grow and distribution conditions change. Particular attention is given to the integration of technological parameters and artistic decisions into a unified production cycle that ensures reproducibility of results and predictability of key performance indicators on digital platforms with audiences numbering in the tens of millions of users. The book is intended for professionals in media engineering, systems architects within the creative industries, as well as researchers working at the intersection of visual arts, applied mathematics, and systems analysis.
