MPRA versus Zenodo: Repository Burst as a Natural Experiment for Early Attention Allocation in a Working-Paper Archive
Abstract
This article argues that the scholarly unit is shifting from a standalone PDF to a versioned research object: a citable bundle of instruments, data, and protocols, with the article serving as the interface. Using Zenodo as the reference infrastructure, it defines an inverted artifact hierarchy (registers as measurement, visuals as instruments, protocols as methods, article as guide) and provides practical boilerplate and templates—manifests, Sankey flows, and dependency graphs—to keep multi-file, appendix-heavy work auditable and reproducible across versions.
