Abstract

ATHOS formalizes non-diagnostic human-AI governance through dynamic discernment D_t \in [0,1]. ATHOS-LIFE extends this to everyday volatility: fragmented schedules, role transitions, and notification overload erode agency independently of capacity.ATHOS-LIFE introduces Contextual Stability Index (CSI) C_t \in [0,1]—computed from environmental features (request density, task switching, decision clustering)—combined with ATHOS discernment to define three regimes: SUPREME-LIFE (unstable contexts: strong anchoring), OMNIA-LIFE (stable autonomy), EROS-LIFE (trusted speculation).Validation framework includes shadow CSI comparison, longitudinal mixed-effects modeling, interrupted time series analysis, and negative controls. ATHOS-LIFE operationalizes EU AI Act Articles 14, 19, 72 proportionality/reversibility/protection-by-default without diagnosis, surveillance, or behavioral optimization.ATHOS-LIFE Kernel Law: “AI shall constrain speculative deviation from contextual ground proportional to environmental return reliability.”The kernel bridges clinical reasoning (PMID:28853004), system engineering, and regulatory compliance, enabling safe advanced interaction in real-world chaos.
