Characteristic Scale in Cosmic Voids:1 L∗ = 210 ± 5 Mpc Detection at 8.2σ2 Significance3
Abstract
10.5281/zenodo.18493593 We report a statistically significant characteristic scale in the cos-7 mic void distribution from SDSS DR12 and eBOSS DR16 data. Using8 a sample of 10,643 voids identified via the watershed algorithm, we9 find a pronounced peak in the void-void correlation function at L∗ =10 210 ± 5 Mpc. The significance of this detection is 8.2σ (p < 10−15)11 against the null hypothesis of scale-free void distribution. This scale12 corresponds to half the BAO scale (rBAO = 105.2 ± 2.1 Mpc), sug-13 gesting a geometric relationship. The scale hierarchy follows Ln =14 L∗ × (8/9)n Mpc for n = 0, 1, 2, 3. All analysis code and data are15 publicly available for reproducibility.16 cosmology: large-scale structure of universe – cosmology: observations –17 methods: statistical18
