Abstract

This text introduces PCP-Lattice cosmology, a theoretical framework that reinterprets dark energy not as a mysterious substance, but as the thermodynamic cost of the universe verifying its own consistency. The author argues that the observed accelerated expansion of the cosmos is driven by lattice relaxation, a process where the universe transitions from a highly constrained state to a simpler, more computationally efficient one. This model offers a potential solution to the cosmological constant problem by using information theory and verification entropy to match observed energy densities without the extreme discrepancies found in standard quantum field theory. Ultimately, the paper suggests that superluminal recession and dark energy represent a global state change where the "darkness" of space relaxes into existence faster than the speed of light.
