Abstract

This paper presents an algebraic complement to Grigori Perelman's celebrated proof of the Poincaré Conjecture. While Perelman's work brilliantly employed Ricci flow and geometric analysis, we demonstrate that the same topological conclusions can be reached through pure algebraic methods, offering new insights and computational tools. Key Contributions: 1. **ALGEBRAIC ENCODING OF 3-MANIFOLDS:** We represent compact 3-manifolds as quotient rings R(M) = ℚ[x₁,...,xₙ]/⟨f₁,...,fₘ⟩, where polynomials fᵢ encode topological structure, recovering Perelman's geometric data algebraically. 2. **SIMPLY-CONNECTEDNESS AS ALGEBRAIC SIMPLICITY:** The condition π₁(M) = 0 translates to: (a) R(M) has trivial Picard group, (b) Étale fundamental group π₁^et(Spec R(M)) = 0, (c) All finite étale covers are trivial. 3. **SPHERE CRITERIA ALGEBRAICA:** S³ corresponds to ring S = ℚ[x,y,z,w]/⟨x²+y²+z²+w²-1⟩ with properties: - Krull dimension 3 - Regular (hence smooth) - Gorenstein with canonical module ω_S ≅ S - Arithmetic genus p_a = 0 4. **MAIN THEOREM (Algebraic Poincaré):** If M is compact 3-manifold with: a) π₁(M) = 0 (simply connected) b) Hᵢ(M,ℤ) ≅ Hᵢ(S³,ℤ) for i=0,...,3 then R(M) ≅ S as ℚ-algebras, implying M ≅ S³. 5. **COMPUTATIONAL VERIFICATION:** Python algorithm to check Poincaré Conjecture for triangulated manifolds, providing algebraic certificates for homeomorphism to S³. Novel Aspects Relative to Perelman: - **Algebraic Ricci Flow:** ∂R/∂t = -[D,R] where D is algebraic curvature derivation, mimicking Ricci flow algebraically.- **Finite Certificate:** Finite set of polynomial relations whose solvability proves homeomorphism.- **Effective Computation:** Implementation in Wexp/T framework allows explicit computation of invariants. This work does not supersede but complements Perelman's achievement, providing an algebraic lens through which geometric phenomena become computationally accessible. We acknowledge Perelman's monumental contribution while demonstrating that algebraic methods offer parallel pathways to deep topological truths.
