v0.0.1 – Initial public dataset release This is the first public release of the Surface Water Quality Database repository. Contents Curated subset of surface-water quality datasets used in Weller et al. (2024) and Murphy et al. (2025). Datasets were included if the data owners gave permission for the data to be shared or if the data were already publicly available. Public datasets are included only when they were difficult to locate, or when additional variables were derived or extracted for use in the studies (e.g., land use, weather, or methods variables). De-identified/limited fields (e.g., GPS coordinates, site names, and waterway names removed). Please contact the original data owners for the full datasets. Some variables were added by Weller et al. (2024) and/or Murphy et al. (2025) (e.g., methods variables) and may not be present in the full datasets provided by data owners.
