BRIDGE Framework for SPED Curriculum Reform: Operating Framework Specifications & Curriculum Architecture
Abstract
This record contains two companion documents that together define the BRIDGE approach to SPED curriculum reform (v2.3, 2026-02-06): (A) BRIDGE Operating Framework: Specifications — the shared operating logic that translates curriculum on paper into curriculum in practice. It specifies the core coordination rules: teaching modes [R] Routines, [L] Lessons, [P] Programmes, staged integration, a light assessment/evidence spine (0–3 for routines; R/U/E/G for lessons), and guardrails (minimum implementable sets and caps) to prevent overload and drift. It also includes a simple tagging/review method plus templates for adapting existing domain-based curriculum documents. (B) BRIDGE Curriculum Framework: Concept Paper — the vision and rationale for the BRIDGE structure, describing why the operating logic is needed and how a school can build an integrated curriculum over time while maintaining feasibility for teachers. Schools may implement locally tailored curricula while sharing a common operating logic. When adapting these materials, please retain attribution to the originating framework. Licence: CC BY-NC 4.0.
