Ethics in Human Resource Auditing; A 21st Century Approach
Abstract
Human resource (HR) audits involve the assessment of sensitive employee data, organizational policies, and managerial practices that directly impact accountability, fairness, and trust within organizations. As such, ethics are crucial to HR audits. With an emphasis on values like confidentiality, integrity, objectivity, transparency, and adherence to legal and professional standards, this study investigates the ethical aspects of human resource auditing. The study examines how ethical HR auditing improves corporate governance overall, reduces risks associated with discrimination, data privacy violations, and unethical labor practices, and supports organizational accountability. It also examines the main ethical issues that HR auditors deal with, such as conflicts of interest, improper use of employee data, prejudice in assessment procedures, and adherence to data protection laws. The study emphasizes how crucial it is to incorporate ethical frameworks and best-practice guidelines into the planning, carrying out, and reporting of HR audits. The results imply that ethically carried out HR audits support strategic human resource management, employee trust, and long-term organizational performance in addition to guaranteeing legal compliance. In order to strengthen ethical standards in human resource auditing, the paper's conclusion emphasizes the necessity of ongoing ethical training, strong governance frameworks, and technology-driven protections.
