Abstract
Genus †TichostephanusEngel, 2019 Type species. † Tichostephanus hui Engel, 2019. Differential diagnosis. Head with distinct coronal tubercles. Fore wing with first discal cell absent. Ovipositor sheath elongated, with “ bottle-brush-like ” bristles densely developed apically. Diagnosis. Antenna in males short and robust, with 14 antennomeres; while in females comparatively long and slender, with 13 antennomeres. Head with two unpaired anterior tubercles situated at frons, and three pairs of distinct coronal teeth situated around the ocellus; veins of fore wing strongly reduced; pterostigma distinct elongate and acute apically; vein 1 Rs / 1 M straight, vein 2 Rs + M and 1 m-cu continuous, forming straight elongated vein between anterior apex of subdiscal cell to origin of 2 - Rs, forming large submarginal cell; vein M does not reach the wing margin; vein A extended beyond 1 cu-a and almost reaching 2 Cua; hindwing with cu-a absent. Hind femur slender; hind tibia strongly swollen-appearing distally; hind tarsus 5 - segmented. Metasomal articulation situated slightly lower on the propodeal dorsum; first metasomal sternite not fused with first tergite. Ovipositor slightly longer than metasoma. Parameres tapering apically to broadly rounded apex, with fringe of setae developed along inner margin; gonostipes broadly attached to paramere except apically distinct and tapering to narrowly rounded apex; volsella with long, curved, apical lobe approaching apex of Gonostipex; aedeagus tubular, slightly narrower than paramere, not extending beyond paramere apex.
