Abstract

HJC-FRAMEWORK-LENSES HJC-FRAMEWORK-LENSES is a working repository of external diagnostic lenses derived from the Hoffman–Joyce Continuum (HJC) and the HuSCoT ecosystem. These lenses are not core framework doctrine. Each functions as a localized diagnostic instrument designed to be applied to real artifacts, systems, decisions, practices, or historically bounded cases in the wild. Their purpose is practical detection and calibration, not theoretical completion or policy prescription. What a lens is A framework lens: is derived from internal HJC / HuSCoT structures, asks one precise diagnostic question, and points toward a specific class of structural failure, risk, or maturity deficit. Lenses are intentionally narrow. They do not explain everything; they reveal one structural property reliably under contact. Some lenses operate at artifact or system scale. Others function as structural calibration lenses, using constitutional, institutional, technological, or historical cases to test transport, amplification, adaptation, or authority-revision dynamics that cannot be observed in a single snapshot. Calibration cases allow the lens to be stress-tested against longitudinal systems behavior, rather than purely theoretical examples. What this repository contains The repository includes named diagnostic lenses and structural calibration cases, such as: Premature Epistemic Completion Substrate vs. Guidance Failure Trusted Misinformation Continuity Without Adaptation / CI-ATC Discontinuity-Free Loss (DFL) Structural calibration cases applying lenses to historical or institutional artifacts. For each lens or calibration case, the repository documents: its derivational roots within HJC / HuSCoT, the external diagnostic question it asks, and the failure modes, risks, or maturity constraints it surfaces under application. Individual lenses may appear as short technical notes, essays, or extended case analyses, depending on the scope of the diagnostic application. Domains of application Lenses may apply across domains including: AI systems institutions and governance structures legal doctrines and constitutional interpretation organizations and decision processes texts and communication systems visual artifacts and cultural objects historical calibration cases used to test adaptive capacity under stress The lens approach is intentionally cross-domain, because structural failure patterns often recur across otherwise unrelated systems. What this repository is not This repository is not: a canonical statement of HJC or HuSCoT a moral taxonomy, advocacy position, or governance standard a closed or exhaustive list of diagnostic instruments Status philosophy This repository functions as a curation surface, not a canon. Lenses may be: added as they emerge through application refined for clarity or boundary precision retired if they fail to demonstrate ongoing diagnostic value Lenses that do not remain useful under repeated real-world or historical application should be removed without revision. The organizing principle is external usefulness under contact, not internal elegance. Methodological note Lens development and testing may involve interaction with analytical tools, including large language model systems, used as comparative interlocutors during diagnostic exploration. All interpretive conclusions remain the responsibility of the author.
