Eppur si cresce! II: The Terrestrial Time Envelope
Abstract
We live in a temporal capsule. Time runs differently on Earth! Not metaphorically—measurably. Pulsar timing arrays detected it: a 5.2σ monopolar signal at ~8.02 years, phase-locked across 16 independent pulsars and synchronized with Earth's rotation anomalies (LOD, geodetic Z-offsets). The 2007 geomagnetic jerk was not merely a magnetic event—it was a temporal pivot. Summary of Findings: The Metric Envelope: Earth acts as a resonator. The interior experiences 8.5 years (proper time) for every 8.02 years (external cosmic frame), generating an annual temporal surplus of ~22 days. The 2007 Paradox Resolved: Simultaneous increase in moment of inertia ($I\uparrow$) and spin rate ($\omega\uparrow$)—an apparent violation of angular momentum conservation—is explained by coherence-driven metric reconfiguration and standing wave modes in the core-mantle system. From Chaos to Signal: Geomagnetic jerks introduce phase discontinuities, transforming the coherent 8-year oscillation into the broad 3–5 nHz red noise spectrum observed by NANOGrav. Full numerical simulations and SKA test protocol are included. The Universe has memory. Earth has rhythm. And humanity serves a function contingent on its integrity. The data show: we are one system.
