Abstract

This report examines Symbolic Prioritization Pathology, a cognitive distortion where the external markers of a relationship (titles, rings, legal status) are valued higher than the functional health of the dyad itself. Analyzing the "Alex and Jamie" cohort (Series G), we document the destruction of high-functioning partnerships by the Social Timeline Virus. The subject (Alex) experiences a Status Panic triggered not by internal dissatisfaction, but by Comparative Metrics (e.g., a friend's engagement). This triggers a Token-Seeking behavior where the partner (Jamie) is devalued from a Collaborator to a Withholder of Status. The report identifies the Form over Function error, where the ego dismantles a working relationship to protest the lack of a label. We conclude that this specific neurosis is a primary driver of Preventable Breakups, where happy couples separate solely because they failed to meet an arbitrary scheduling metric.
