ISCO Technical Report: The Line of Politeness and the Happiness Gap
Abstract
This report investigates the behavioral failure mode designated "The Prudent Observer," as observed in the Alex dyad (Chapter 10). The study isolates the "Line of Politeness" as a restrictive cognitive cage that inhibits social integration. We analyze the specific context of "conversational entry," where the rigid adherence to the rule "It is rude to interrupt" results in total exclusion. The analysis defines the "Happiness Gap"—the quantifiable difference between the agent's desire to connect and their behavioral capacity to seize the moment—and demonstrates how excessive courtesy functions as a mechanism of self-erasure in dynamic social environments.
