The Anti-Congruent Closure: Structural Exclusion of Finite-Time Singularities in the Three-Dimensional Incompressible Navier–Stokes Equations
Abstract
We present a structural reduction of the global regularity problem for the three-dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. Assuming a finite-time singularity occurs, we prove that the solution must persist arbitrarily close to a rigid geometric configuration—the locking manifold—across infinitely many dyadic scales and full turnover intervals. This manifold is characterized by simultaneous strain spectral degeneracy, extremal vorticity–strain alignment, and suppression of nonlocal transport. We introduce an ordering resistance functional ψ that vanishes precisely on this manifold and show that any attempt to sustain persistence near it triggers a sharp Leakage–or–Symmetry Dichotomy. Either angular leakage is forced by commutator production, destroying the alignment required for blow-up, or the director dynamics collapse to a rigid symmetry class (e.g. two-dimensional flow or axisymmetric flow without swirl), for which global regularity is already known. The result closes all analytic escape mechanisms and reduces the Navier–Stokes singularity problem to the classification of a single, explicitly defined geometric obstruction. The framework is conditional, structurally exhaustive, and falsifiable.
