Definition of Physical Regimes
Abstract
Physical laws are traditionally presented as universal and fundamental. However, closer inspection of their domains of validity reveals that every successful physical description operates within a restricted range of conditions, scales, and observational access. Classical mechanics, quantum theory, and relativistic gravity each provide accurate accounts of physical phenomena only within specific regimes, and none can be straightforwardly extended to all physical contexts without modification.
