Abstract

The religion of Ilangovadikal who wrote Silappadhikaram is not yet conclusively ascertained. Generally many consider him as a Jain. But no proper evidences are shown for this. This article tries to ascertain conclusively the religion of Ilangovadikal from the internal evidences found in Silappadhikaram .
