Abstract

The EBSEC database supports the manuscript Obhođaš et al. "Integrated GIS Multi-Criteria Analysis with AHP and Remote Sensing for Identifying and Monitoring High-Risk Areas of Illegal Border Crossing" submitted to ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information. It is also a part of the ESA project "Enhancing Croatian border security through the integration of earth observation and traditional law enforcement surveillance operations". It contains the following folders:1. D5_Preliminary Database - contains calculated risk classes (.shp) along with images (.tif) of the individual parameters that went into the risk calculation2. High Risk Area Polygons - contains 2 km wide polygons (.shp) of the high risk locations according to the risk classes3. Google Earth_Georeferenced Images - contains 63 georeferenced images (.tif) originally obtained from Google Earth4. UP42_Satellite Images and Detection Algorithm Results - contains 28 satellite images (.tiff) and 5 results from two detection algorithms (3 car detections, 2 truck detections) (.json) obtained from the UP42 console File types available: Vector files: - .shp (with the accompanying .cpg, .dbf, .prj, .qmd, and .shx files) - .json Raster files: - .tif - .tiff Other: - .qml Most files (except .qml) can be easily loaded into a GIS software by simply dropping them onto the map. Additional methods to open the files in QGIS: Vector files: - Layer -> Add Layer -> Add Vector Layer… -> … (at the end of "Vector Dataset(s)") - select the .shp or .json file -> Open -> Add Raster files: - Layer -> Add Layer -> Add Raster Layer… -> … (at the end of "Raster Dataset(s)") - select the .tif or .tiff file -> Open -> Add The "0_Risk classes_colours.qml" file represents the QGIS layer settings for the "0_Risk classes.shp". To load the settings for that vector file: - In the "Layers" list (usually on the bottom-left side of the screen), right-click on the (previously loaded) "0_Risk classes" -> Properties… -> Symbology - At the bottom of the "Symbology" screen, press "Style" -> Load Style… -> … (at the end of "File") - select the .qml file -> Open -> Load Style -> Apply
