Emergent Time Field from Quantum Gravity: A Complete Microphysical Mechanism for Dark Energy
Abstract
We present a first-principles derivation of cosmic acceleration from the quantum gravitational microstructure of spacetime. Combining Loop Quantum Gravity networks with quantum clocks, we show that synchronization dynamics of microscopic time-keeping devices leads to the emergence of a continuous time field T(x) in the infrared limit. Through non-perturbative renormalization group analysis on networks up to 16³ vertices (4096 quantum clocks), we demonstrate that the effective potential takes the form V(T) = V₀[1 - cos(T/f_T)] with V₀ = 1.361 ± 0.013 M_Pl⁴ and f_T = 0.925 ± 0.010 M_Pl⁻¹. The field's ultra-light mass m_T = (3.58 ± 0.15) × 10⁻¹⁴ eV arises naturally from topological protection of clock synchronization. All cosmological parameters are fixed by quantum gravitational physics with no fine-tuning: we obtain Ω_T = 0.787 ± 0.006 for the dark energy density parameter, H₀ = 68.2 ± 1.5 km/s/Mpc for the Hubble constant, and equation of state w(z) = -1 + (2.4 ± 0.3) × 10⁻³(1+z)⁰·¹⁵±⁰·⁰⁵. The theory makes testable predictions: 1. Time variation of fundamental constants: Δα/α = (1.2 ± 0.3) × 10⁻²⁰ yr⁻¹ 2. Characteristic anisotropies in CMB at multipoles ℓ < 10 with amplitude ΔT/T ∼ 10⁻⁶ 3. Redshift-dependent deviations from ΛCDM in H(z) measurements at z > 1.5 at the 0.5% level This work provides a complete microphysical origin for dark energy within quantum gravity, solving the cosmological constant hierarchy problem without introducing new physics beyond Loop Quantum Gravity. The emergent time field naturally explains the observed late-time cosmic acceleration. This is the extended and quantitative version of the earlier "SynchronoGeometry" framework, now with numerical simulations and specific falsifiable predictions.
