Abstract
The Jains played a significant role in the development of epic poetry. All five minor epics are Jain epics. The word 'Kappiyam' is a Tamil word meaning 'that which narrates a story,' and it is a derivative of the Sanskrit word 'Kavya'. Chulamani is one of the five minor epics, and its author is Tholamozhi Thevar. Dreams are seen not only as omens foretelling future events but also as a psychological construct that reveals the characters' inner feelings, mental stress, desires, and fears. Based on this, the objective of this article is to analyze the king's dream in the Kumarakalach Sarukkam from psychological and symbolic perspectives, and to explain its literary interpretation and Jungian and Freudian interpretations.
