Discretization as the Origin of the Cosmological Constant
Abstract
We demonstrate that the observed value of the cosmological constant, Λ∼10−52 m−2, can be derived directly from spacetime discreteness. By identifying a critical length scale Lcrit from cosmological observations, the effective Λ emerges as a statistical residue of coarse‑graining. This approach resolves the discrepancy between quantum field theory predictions and observations without fine‑tuning, and provides a falsifiable link between theory and data
