Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: The number of scientific studies and research articles exploring gamification in physical education has been increasing significantly in recent years. This trend has been further enriched by the incorporation of various themes into the methodology, such as the “Harry Potter” universe. These thematic integrations substantially enhance the teaching and learning process, actively engaging students in meaningful educational experiences. Aim: The aim of this study was to conduct a literature review that would serve both as an analytical framework and as a method for accurately quantifying the number of scientific articles related to the theme of the Harry Potter universe within the field of Physical Education. Methods: The search for relevant articles was carried out using the Web of Science database, resulting in the identification of 89 scientific publications that met the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results & discussion: Upon analysis of the results, no single journal was found to be predominant, as only one journal had published two articles containing the selected keywords. Conclusions: It is therefore essential to continue with longitudinal research into the influence of the Harry Potter universe on physical education, given the notable contemporary relevance of this topic and its potential for further exploration within the field of educational research.
